EGP80 Electronic Grade Panelboard
Technical Specifications The electrical industry's first
Electronic Grade panelboard
FEATURES
The electrical industry's first Electronic Grade panelboard, Current Technology's patented and innovative EGP integrate Current Technology's respected UL 1283 high frequency range power filter and UL 1449 high performance suppression system with your choice of UL 67 listed GE, Siemens, Square D or Cutler-Hammer/Westinghouse non-linear six-wire panelboards. Standard EGP features include:

UL 1449 High Performance Suppression System: Advanced seamless technology integrates arrays of matched non-linear voltage dependent metal oxide varistors for maximum performance and proven reliability. EGPs provide bi-directional, bi-polar power conditioning with a tested single-pulse surge current capacity in excess of 160,000 amps per phase and a repetitive 10,000 amp surge current capacity of 2,500 impulses to assure maximum protection of valuable assets.

UL 1283 High Frequency Extended Range Power Filter: Unique filtering techniques combine with tight voltage clamping to provide optimum protection. Bi-directional, bi-polar line control yields broad range sine wave filtering to remove low-level surges, sharp wavefronts and error-producing high frequency noise bursts.

Integral Breakers for Suppression/Filter System: Integral suppression/filter system and three pole circuit breaker provides increased safety and the most cost-effective means of installation to achieve optimum performance

200% Rated Copper Neutral Bus: A 200% rated copper neutral bus eliminates harmful neutral overheating proliferated by non-linear loads

Safety Ground Bus: Incorporating an Al/Cu-rated mechanical lug at input, the safety ground bus accommodates connections equal to the number of branch breaker positions

Insulated Isolated Ground Bus: The insulated isolated ground bus eliminates cross-interference between safety ground and the isolated ground associated with sensitive electronic equipment

Ten Mode Diagnostic Test Point: The industry's first integral test point allows easy Diagnostic Test Set connection for real time testing and monitoring of system integrity using Current Technology's exclusive DTS-2 Diagnostic Test Set

Main Lug/Main Breaker Configurations: General Electric, Siemens, Square D and Cutler-Hammer/Westinghouse main lug or main breaker panel configurations are available to meet the requirements of any distribution system

Customer-Specified Breaker Layout: Single, two- or three-pole breaker configuration in accordance with exact customer specifications

Status Indicators: Indicate suppression and overcurrent status

Suppression Filter Systems Interconnections: Made with #8 AWG copper hypalon conductor with compression lugs and bolted to low impedance corrosion-resistant, tin-plated bus to ensure lowest possible impedance

Warranty: Five Years, suppression filter assembly and panelboard including breakers

INDUSTRY STANDARDS CERTIFICATION

standard

description

UL 1449

Underwriters Laboratories standard that establishes requirements for surge suppression safety and performance. Commonly recognized as a benchmark test for product comparison

UL 1283

Underwriters Laboratories standard dictating requirements for electromagnetic interference (EMI) filters installed on, or connected to, 600V or lower potential circuits installed in accordance with the National Electrical Code. Also covers filters used to attenuate unwanted high frequency signals generated from electromagnetic sources

CUL

Canadian version of Underwriters Laboratories

NEMA LS-1

The specification format guideline published by the National Electrical Manufacturers Association for specifiers and customers investigating Low Voltage Surge Protection Devices

UL 67

Underwriters Laboratories recognized standard for the manufacture of electric panelboards rated 600 volts or less. UL 67 also dictates the use of Low Voltage AC Power Switching Devices and Fused Power Circuit Devices in panelboards

UL50

CSA

Canadian Standards Association's guidelines for compliance with general Canadian Electrical Code requirements for bonding and ground/protective ground of electrical equipment and surge/transient voltage suppressors

In compliance with NEMA LS 1-1992, paragraphs 2.2.7, 2.2.9 and 3.9, Current Technology suppression filter systems are single pulse surge current tested in all modes at currents up to 150% of the product design rating by an industry-recognized independent test laboratory. Single pulse surge current capacities of 200,000 amps or less are established by single-unit testing of all components within each mode. Due to present industry test equipment limitations, single pulse surge current capacities over 200,000 amps are established via testing of individual components or sub-assemblies within a mode.
